Inspire Talent Hub is committed to making this website usable and welcoming for everyone, including people who use assistive technologies. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we work to improve continuously.
Measures We Take
- Semantic HTML with landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and a "skip to main content" link.
- Keyboard-operable navigation, buttons, filters, and modals, with visible focus indicators.
- Descriptive labels and ARIA attributes where they add clarity for screen readers.
- Support for reduced motion — animations are minimised when your device requests it.
- Responsive, scalable layouts and text that adapt to different screens and zoom levels.
- Attention to colour contrast against our dark theme, and descriptive alternative text for images.
Standards
We aim to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as a practical target, and we test key journeys across common devices and screen sizes.
Known Limitations
Some third-party embeds and a few older pages are still being brought fully in line with our latest standards. Sample images and media placeholders will be replaced with accessible, described content as real assets are added.

Accessibility We Actually Test For
A statement of intent is easy. These are the checks this site is held to before changes ship.
Automated Layout Checks
Every page is loaded in a real browser at a 375-pixel mobile width and verified to produce zero horizontal overflow, so content never disappears sideways at small sizes or high zoom.
Console-Clean Pages
The same automated pass confirms every page runs without JavaScript errors, since a script that dies mid-page can silently break keyboard handling and focus management.
Keyboard & Focus
Interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard, carry visible focus indicators, and are sized to at least 44 by 44 pixels so they are usable with imprecise pointing.
Motion & Structure
Animation is disabled when your system requests reduced motion, and content is readable even if JavaScript fails — reveal animations can never leave text permanently invisible.
What We Build Toward
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as a practical baseline, and we adopt 2.2 criteria such as adequate target sizes where we can. The site is built on semantic HTML with proper landmark regions, a skip-to-content link, one main heading per page and a logical heading order, which is what assistive technology relies on to navigate a document sensibly.
We test key journeys — finding a competition, using the Study Hub, verifying a certificate — across common browsers and screen sizes, with keyboard navigation and with the operating system’s reduced-motion and zoom settings applied. Text scales rather than being pinned to fixed pixel sizes, layouts reflow instead of forcing horizontal scrolling, and images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text.
Known Limitations & Our Response Commitment
We would rather name our gaps than imply perfection.
Some parts of the platform are harder to make fully accessible than others, and we will not pretend otherwise. The printable examination papers are laid out for A4 print geometry rather than for screen reading; the in-page QR scanner depends on a device camera and browser support, and we provide a manual Certificate ID entry route as the accessible alternative wherever scanning is offered. Complex interactive tools such as the match game remain an area we are actively improving.
